Plug in the extender:

Connect the extender to a power outlet and ensure it’s within range of your main router. 

Connect to the extender’s network:

Use your computer or mobile device to connect to the extender’s default WiFi network, which is usually named NETGEAR_EXT. 

Access the Setup Wizard:

To set up a Netgear WiFi extender, you’ll typically connect to the extender’s default WiFi network (NETGEAR_EXT), then access the setup page through a web browser (e.g., www.mywifiext.net or 192.168.1.250). You’ll then follow the on-screen prompts to connect to your existing home WiFi network and configure the extender. 

Click “New Extender Setup”: You should see a page prompting you to start the setup process. Click the “New Extender Setup” button or a similar option.
